Midland Exploration Inc. (MD-V) Midland and SOQUEM stake 104 mining claims following the discovery of new copper occurrences in the Labrador Trough

On February 27, 2025 Midland Exploration Inc. announced the discovery of new copper showings in the Labrador Trough in Nunavik, Québec. Following several years of exploration work conducted under the Strategic Alliance with SOQUEM, within unexplored regions of the area of interest, 2024 exploration efforts were particularly focused on the central part of the Labrador Trough and have identified new copper prospects. Recall Midland had announced on August 22, 2024 the discovery of new showings on the Nachicapau Project in the Labrador Trough; the exploration program, in partnership with SOQUEM, was designed to follow up on discoveries on high-grade copper-gold-silver mineralized horizons and veins made in 2022 and 2023 (see: https://www.dhirubhai.net/posts/eric-lemieux-9468715_quebec-labrador-trough-activity-7232516100482084865-5AtX?utm_source=share&utm_medium=member_desktop and

Identified as prospective for the discovery of potential economic copper mineralization and with experience acquired on the Nichicapau Project, a reconnaissance program has led to the discovery of several new copper showings along a NW-SE-trending magnetic axis, over a distance of >3 km south of Dunphy Lake. This new discovery prompted the staking of 104 mining claims along this prospective axis.

?

Taking position in intrusives of the Wakuach Suite: The 104 mining claims form a 5,020-ha claim block located ~60 km south of the Nachicapau property. The major Argencourt thrust fault, associated with several copper deposits in the central Labrador Trough, is located 4 km further west. Up to 42 rock samples collected on outcrops or in boulders detached from the latter, following a 2-day reconnaissance campaign in early summer of 2024,? led to the discovery of chalcopyrite mineralization in fractures and quartz-calcite veins within a mafic intrusive of the Wakuach Suite. Pervasive and locally intense albite and potassic feldspar alteration was observed, as well as hematite and epidote alteration associated with fractures. Best grades included values of up to 3.73% Cu and 1.94% Cu in the northernmost part of the area, and 0.54% Cu further south. Over 16 samples collected yielded grades >0.1% Cu and exhibit anomalous values for several elements such as gold, cobalt or molybdenum. The mineralized samples are distributed along a NW-SE -trending magnetic axis over a distance of ~3.7 km. The total lateral and depth extent of this new mineralization is currently unknown and we note no drilling has ever been realized in the immediate area.

In 2025, Midland and SOQUEM shall continue their efforts to assess the economic potential of these discoveries to the south of Dunphy Lake. Dunphy Lake, named Kwastachuun by Naskapis.? is part of the Caniapiscau River basin and discharges towards Otelnuk lake, known for undeveloped iron ore deposits. The NW shores of Dunphy Lake are known for stratiform copper showings in the Dunphy Formation of laminated to massive dolomites and black slate with local gabbro sills of the Wakuach Suite (Montagnais Supersuite) (~2,169 Ma). The name Dunphy Lake recalls the engineer-surveyor A.-M. Dunphy, killed in a helicopter crash in 1954, while he was carrying out surveying work in the region. Surface exploration work including rock and soil sampling is planned in order to establish the significance of these new copper occurrences.
