Hey everyone, it's Anastasiia, Head of Marketing at Traffic Balance, and I'm here today with the now trending Midjorney (not that it wasn't a trend before, but now that it's free, it's a whole other topic)

 Today I want to share with you how an AI based tool called Midjourney can dramatically improve your results in affiliate marketing and help you quickly adapt to market changes.         

Just a quick reminder for everyone that hasn't been on the Internet for a few years, Midjourney is a tool that uses artificial intelligence to create images based on text descriptions. And it does it pretty well, too!

 The main question is - How can Midjourney help with affiliate marketing?        

Well, you can utilize it on pretty much daily basis - from everyday routine (like managing visual for your Instagram) and to task that previosly required a specialist.?

1. Designing advertising creatives        

?You can use it to create banners, ads and visuals for social media. This is especially important for A/B testing, when you need to quickly and cost-effectively test several variants of creatives.

Anastasiia's take:

As a test, I desided to create images that can be possibly used in the advertising, I thought it would be good to test how the AI will visualise a person, since it was a significant issue before (with all the missing or extra limbs added to the body.) Here is a prompt I used:

"Create an image of a relatively young girl in her early 20s, dressed in a sharp, tailored suit, working as a live dealer at a poker table. The scene should feature the girl confidently dealing poker cards, with a professional, focused expression on her face. The poker table is well-lit and includes a deck of cards, poker chips, and a green felt surface. The background should be a high-end casino environment with subtle, elegant lighting that highlights the intensity of the game."

2. Rapid hypothesis testing?        

Thanks to Midjourney's speed, affiliate marketers can quickly test different hypotheses and strategies. Instead of long design waits, several image variants can be immediately available and their effectiveness can be immediately tested in practice.?

Anastasiia's take:

In affiliate marketing it's crucial to be fast and change everything quickly. The A/B splitting is just one example. For example, in iGaming, we sometimes want to test what will perform best betting offer or casino offer. But we don't want to set up the campaigns fully and wait for the designers for days. Midjourney created 2 different designs in less than a minute. For that I used 2 prompts:

1. "Create an image of a football player mid-action, just after striking a goal on target. The player should be in full motion, showcasing athleticism and focus, with the ball heading towards the net. In the background, vibrant fireworks burst into the sky, celebrating the victory. The stadium is filled with cheering fans, with bright lights illuminating the scene, emphasizing the triumphant moment. The atmosphere is electric, capturing the exhilaration of a winning goal."

2. "Create an image of a middle-aged man in a casino, captured in the moment of winning a jackpot on a slot machine. The man should have an expression of pure joy and disbelief, with his hands raised in excitement. The slot machine is brightly lit, showing a winning combination with coins or tokens spilling out. The background should include a lively casino atmosphere, with other slot machines, colorful lights, and a vibrant energy that emphasizes the thrill of his big win."

3. Cost minimisation        

Midjourney helps reduce the cost of creating visuals by making the process more affordable and faster. This is especially useful for small teams and individual affiliates who work with limited budgets. Whether it's for advertising campaigns or social media.

Anastasiia's take:

Since I already showed how it can be used in affiliate marketing and advertising campaigns, let me show an example of social media post that Midjourney can create. Here's the prompt:

"Create an image that visually demonstrates how easy it is to use Midjourney on social media. Show a sleek smartphone screen with the Midjourney app interface open, where a user is effortlessly typing a prompt and generating stunning visuals. Surround the phone with popular social media icons like Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook, indicating seamless sharing. The background should be modern and minimalistic, with soft gradients and a focus on simplicity. The overall vibe should be user-friendly, highlighting the accessibility and creativity that Midjourney brings to social media content creation."

As you can see, AI is still not very good with creating a text on the image, so be aware of that. Nonetheless, it's a great mockup that you can use as a basis to your post.

The Midjourney update of 22 August 2024 opens up even more opportunities for affiliate marketers. With it, you'll be able to create even better and more personalised creatives, test their effectiveness and optimise your campaigns. This update makes Midjourney an even more powerful tool in the arsenal of any marketer looking to succeed in affiliate marketing.
