Finance Is Failing the World’s Best Defense Against Climate Change. Gabon says it should reap the benefits of the growing carbon offset market, even though the country's been successful in protecting the vast majority of its forests for decades. The country "insists it should be compensated for the air-purifying service its trees provide. Otherwise, it hints, its commitment to forest preservation may take a backseat to more traditional economic development."
World’s Rich Take Advantage as $1 Trillion?Property Market Drops. "Wealthy individuals, family offices and closely held?companies took advantage of their smaller debt profiles and lengthier investment horizons to spend a combined $455 billion?last year on commercial real estate," according to a Knight Frank report. They mostly focused on rental housing and the US market.
