It is always nice to start the day with positive news. "Ahlan Simsim", the Arabic version of "Sesame Street" is finally ready to debut in Middle East countries with a new entry, Basma, one of the new Muppets that will be joining the global Sesame Street family. The initiative, held by The International Rescue Committee (IRC) and Sesame Workshop, has been created to provide millions of refugee children in the regions of Syria, JordanLebanon, and Iraq. Partners are saying Ahlan Simsim would help to "heal the scars of war". Syria's war has actually killed hundreds of thousands of people and displaced millions since erupting in 2011 with the repression of anti-government protests; almost half of those displaced from the war are children. Children don't deserve it. They deserve their pursuit of happiness, they deserve a safe environment, they deserve happiness. "It's all about our children and their future, research, collaboration, and the magic of Muppets".
