As Greater Manchester steps onto the global stage this March, we prepare to showcase our city-region at two world-leading events, MIPIM Cannes and SXSW Austin.
Today, our delegation led by Greater Manchester Mayor Andy Burnham and Manchester City Council Leader Cllr Bev Craig is already making waves at SXSW by demonstrating why Manchester's ￡80 billion economy and thriving key sectors make it the place to invest.
With lots of activity set to come at SXSW 2025, we're looking forward to sharing more with you, including our Northern collaboration takeover event at UK House, which will bring Manchester's innovation to life as we network with key stakeholders.
Over at MIPIM in Cannes, all ten Greater Manchester authorities will unite. Together, we'll position our city-region as the UK's premier growth opportunity, highlighting our billion-pound transformative projects.
These global platforms offer the perfect opportunity to share our compelling investment story, build strategic relationships, and demonstrate why Manchester leads the way as the UK's fastest-growing economy.

MIDAS is gearing up to take Greater Manchester to the global stage. As one of the UK’s fastest-growing city-regions and a powerhouse for innovation, Manchester is an investment destination like no other. Alongside the Manchester Invest Partnership MIDAS will be joining all ten Greater Manchester local authorities and a host of public and private partners to showcase why our city is the UK’s top choice for business, real estate, and innovation.

Manchester Leaders Set Sights on MIPIM 2025 Following KPMG Event
MIDAS and Marketing Manchester hosted city leaders at KPMG’s offices for an exclusive conversation with Tom Stannard, Chief Executive of Manchester City Council. The event gave Manchester at MIPIM partners valuable insights into Stannard’s vision for the city-region’s growth and the Council’s priorities under new leadership.
?Stannard emphasised the importance of connecting developments with the community and outlined his long-term focus on three key areas: homes and affordable housing, health, and skills for all ages.

SXSW 2025
Northern Cities Unite for A Collaboration at SXSW 2025 Austin
Greater Manchester, one of Europe’s fastest-growing economies, are at South by Southwest (SXSW) 2025 to showcase the North of England on the global stage. The delegation, including Greater Manchester Mayor Andy Burnham, City Council Leader Cllr Bev Craig, and our MD Joe Manning, along with tech and creative businesses, aims to strengthen Manchester’s cultural and economic ties with Texas.
Building on past trade missions that brought Texas firms like Cloud Imperium Games to Manchester, the delegation will meet with companies such as Dell and AECOM to drive further investment and collaboration.?
