A Mid-Year Update

In January, I set myself some New Year intentions, and I shared them in this post here:
These goals came from understanding what works for me, what brings me joy, and what keeps me motivated:
If I do a quick mid-year check-in:
?? ?? I passed my driving exam (just this morning) and applied for the ILR, now waiting for the results.
?? I've been fairly active physically at the beginning of the year, but then slowed down habit-wise. I enjoyed the outdoors through spring and signed up for a 5-mile swimming challenge, which I completed in 5 hours last weekend.
During those 5 hours, I reflected on how I was bored to death after just 20 minutes in the swimming pool but could stay motivated in the water for long hours when it was an event with hundreds of other people swimming with me.
This is true for other aspects of my life too.

?? I barely sit at my craft desk on my own, but when I join a drawing session, I am very eager. When I share my art and craft with others on Instagram or online communities, I'm more motivated.
From doing the workshop with Emma last year on my freelancer manifesto, I know that I'm highly motivated and work well in a collaborative environment and community-focused settings.
Remember my mantra I set thanks to Gem's workshop in January? "I prioritize long-term well-being over short-term comfort." That has helped me immensely over these past months, whether it's when I felt too lazy to go to the gym class, wanted to ditch my driving lessons, or felt unmotivated or concerned about my financial security.
?? I can't say I have come close to doubling my income yet, but that goal might shift into something new with next week's workshops.
I am now part of the incredible Generalist World team, and we're planning even more exciting things that will help me reach my long-term vision and goals.
For the next 6 months, I'll continue with my goals for upping my speaking and facilitation game, but I think I'm going to focus my energy on where it will help me in the long run.
I'm looking forward to next week's sessions to refresh my goals, make a plan to achieve them, and set a new mantra to add to my toolbox.
Hope to see you there too!

5 个月Congratulations, Ece ?? Thank you for sharing your wins, I love to see it. All a result of the accessible support and resources you put out there for us to build genuine, value-add communities. I am definitely inspired. Also, as a millennial who cannot drive, I’ll have to get your tips (but honestly idk if I can be fussed ??). I’ll pop into one of your sessions soon and please let me know when you’re next down in London, would love to catch up x
