Mid Year Pause

Mid Year Pause

On July 2, 2024, was day 183 out of 365.

We’re precisely half way through the year and according to Gallup, the majority of us continue to struggle with this whole work/life thing.

In June, Gallup released their “State of the Global Workplace”’ report and would it surprise you that the results were pretty grim?

I’m going out on a limb here, but let me take a stab at how you’re feeling right now.

If it feels like everyone wants a piece of you… YOU’RE RIGHT!!!

The recent report took a look at data from 2023 and two facts sadden me the most.

  1. Global engagement stagnated
  2. Employee wellbeing declined

Both of these findings are at or near record highs!!

The bottom line is,

Our approach to life just isn’t working.

Not only isn’t it working, it’s costing the global economy nearly 9 trillion dollars per year!

YIKES!!!

So, what do you want to do with this information?

You could continue doing what you’ve always done, hoping that things will get better;

hoping that you’ll have more time to figure this out once the kids go back to school;

hoping that you’ll be able to tackle this once that project is behind you, etc.

But, if you’re truly being honest with yourself, you KNOW there’s got to be a better way to live life.

You’re just not sure what it is or how you can even hop off the hamster wheel you’re on.

Let me offer you an escape hatch in that dang wheel.

Take a Mid Year Pause.

Block out 90 minutes of uninterrupted time and ask and answer some important questions.

Picture yourself at the end of the year, happy, content and fulfilled.

  1. What are you doing or have done to feel those emotions?
  2. What things need to be removed in your life, so that you have the space for those things above?
  3. Make plans to drop or delegate them this month. (July is for pruning.)
  4. Schedule one thing from number 1’s answers and schedule it for August. (August is for action.)
  5. Continue each month (September through December) pruning the things that pull you away from those things that bring contentment. And fill that time with things that bring you fulfillment.
  6. Schedule your Year End Review in December to assess and celebrate.

You can do this on your own or you can do it with me!

It takes 90 minutes and the right questions.

Want customized strategies as you hop off that hamster wheel and make it your best 6 months ever?

Now through the end of July only, I’m offering you a private, Mid Year Pause Intensive , for only $175.00.

You’ll leave your Mid Year Pause Intensive with:

  • Clarity around what’s currently going on for you
  • Strategies that are more efficient and effective, saving you energy and time
  • Complete confidence that those goals you made in January will be achieved
  • AND you’ll have someone in your court, texting and Voxing encouragement and support

Let’s take 90 minutes together, and do our part to reverse the global trend.

Here’s to you and that awesome life of yours!!!

Lisa

Thank you for sharing your thoughts and insights into taking a mid year pause! It might seem counterintuitive to what we do in this busy world...pausing and reflecting...taking 90 minutes out to do it. It's exactly what we need to assess where we currently are and where we want to go for the rest of the year. (if we don't set goals or plans, how are we going to make those adjustments - pruning of those things that are getting in the way of us living our best life the way WE want it to look like.

Interesting data Lisa, I'd love to see the Gallup report if you have a link you could share.
