A Message from the Leadership Team
To Our LeaderFlow Friends,
LeaderFlow started with a simple idea and an ambitious long-term goal: to help professionals of color in the AEC industry make connections and grow through a customized and intimate leadership development program to help them attain leadership positions. Now in our 3rd year, we have expanded to three cities (Los Angeles, Seattle, and Houston) and have had the pleasure of connecting with many phenomenal people. Our graduates are thriving with increased skills, connections, and confidence thanks to your support and the generosity of our 20 amazing sponsors.
As a leadership team, we remain committed to advancing DEI in the AEC industry and impacting lives along the way. For the rest of this year, we look forward to expanding our audience and gaining more support through upcoming conference speaking engagements, as well as growing LeaderFlow’s organizational structure.

Session 2: Total Leadership & Work-Life Integration
“The visual mapping concerning our core values was one of the most impressive sessions I’ve seen thus far. It teaches you how your core values line up with your current path and helps you to understand your inner thoughts and/or feelings. As you are navigating through this life, this highlights what’s important to you at the present moment. Makes you question how your core values line up with you becoming a leader, and you may have to shift some things around to reach your goals. Sharing this exercise with my immediate family at home helped me realize where they are in this journey of life, as well as understand what’s important to them. FLOWCILITATOR ORIENTATION & TRAINING
We hosted our first in-person Flowcilitator Orientation and Training at WRNS Studio's Seattle office on June 1st. This interactive workshop was developed in partnership with Seandra Pope , CEO of Rooted Consulting Group to explore The “Flowcilitator” Framework: A Model For How To Be An Inclusive Facilitator”. It was created to provide our newest Flowcilitators with the opportunity to learn more about the program, increase their skills as a facilitator, and how to effectively lead and facilitate a conversation, meeting or training with equity and inclusion in mind.
SPEAKING ENGAGEMENTS
LeaderFlow co-founders, Janiece Williams and John Gavan, were invited to present at the 2023 BVIN Spring Summit in San Francisco about our history, mission, and plans for the future. BVIN Spring Summit - Building Ventures Innovators Network is a proprietary community of industry leaders across the building lifecycle who are committed to championing new ideas to improve our built environment. AIA|Los Angeles selected LeaderFlow as the recipient of the 2023 Community Contribution Award!!! We are extremely honored to be recognized at this level along with the other incredible awardees. The 2023 AIA|LA Design Awards Ceremony will be held at AIA|LA’s brand new West Adams Center for Communities on October 24th.
