Kikkoman Biochemifa Company announced today that it has received the MicroVal and NordVal certification for its prepared media plate Easy Plate YM-R for the enumeration of yeast and moulds in food, feed and environmental samples.
NordVal Certification
NordVal evaluates the performance and field of application of alternative microbiological methods. This includes analyses of food, water, feed, animal feces and food environmental samples in the Nordic countries. NordVal is managed by a steering group, which is appointed by the National Food Administrations in Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway and Sweden. NordVal: A Nordic system for validation of alternative microbiological methods - ScienceDirect NordVal evaluates and certifies the equivalence to ISO methods according to the protocols specified in ISO 16140-2:2016.

MicroVal Certification
MicroVal is an international certification institution for microbiological testing methods, comparable to AOAC OMA, AFNOR, and NordVal, that evaluates and certifies the equivalence to ISO methods according to the protocols specified in ISO 16140-2:2016. MicroVal-certified test kits are widely used internationally.
