A new type of Microsoft Teams Channel is going to change the way your organization not only communicates and collaborates externally but internally as well.
I have recorded a Masterclass called - Deep Dive into getting started with Microsoft Teams Shared Channels (see below ??)
But first....some context....
Shared channels in Microsoft Teams allows us to create collaboration spaces where we can invite people to participate in conversations, collaborate on documents and engage with each other even if they are not part of the Team in which the Channel resides (also known as the Parent Team).
Only the users who are owners or members of the shared channel can access the channel and even though this "parent team" may have many many users we can also limit the people from the team that can access this shared channel.
To make this all work, there is some plumbing in the background that needs to be setup and configured and this is called Azure AD B2B Direct Connect. Bit of a mouthful, but really is a breeze to set up.

Well, there are many great examples and use cases but 2 that have come up while working with clients recently are
Another great example can be for cross functional uses. Typically we may have had to set up yet another Team to facilitate this and make sure that all relevant stakeholders are a part of it. But now people from engineering, sales, and support who all work on different aspects of a project or product let's say could use a shared channel to collaborate.
So all that being said how to we begin ? Well that is why I have recorded this Masterclass called Deep Dive into getting started with Microsoft Teams Shared Channels
