Microsoft Security: Bundles of Bundles
Microsoft has made a living bundling technology together and offering a competitive price in the infrastructure space. While at times there might only be one or two best of breed products in the mix, the overall value tends to garnish consideration. Over the last couple years, Microsoft has been working diligently to penetrate a market where they did not get any consideration, the security market. As their offerings have been evolving, they have also learned that lumping infrastructure spend with security spend is only stagnating their message. Come this February, Microsoft will release the following two offerings that do not commingle different budgets inside of the IT space:
Identity Threat Protection:
- Microsoft Cloud App Security (CASB)
- Azure Active Directory Plan 2
- Azure Advanced Threat Protection
- Windows Advanced Threat Protection (Windows OS, not Email Security)
- O365 Threat Intelligence Dashboard
- Azure Advanced Threat Protection
Information Protection and Compliance
- Azure Information Protection Plan 2
- O365 Advanced Compliance (Advanced eDiscovery, Data Governance, Customer Key, and Privileged Access Management)
Microsoft will also be discontinuing the stand-alone CASB licensing option called Microsoft Cloud App Security and will only include it in these bundles as well as EMS E5. For more information on how this affects your agreement, please contact me. [email protected]
