Partnering with Capacity Building Commission and Ministry of Skills Development and Entrepreneurship

There are around 2.5 million civil servants and bureaucrats in India, who serves in various ministries and government departments, with goal of the citizen welfare and public centric work for the citizens of India. Functional digital literacy, computational skills and #DigitalProductivity play very important role in daily workings, which can substantially improve the productivity of civil servants.

In August 2022, 微软 India collaborated with Capacity Building Commission and Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, India and, we are further extending the MOU and the partnership for 1 year in December 2023 with the objectives of (re) or (up)skilling civil servants and bureaucrats.

• To impart Digital Productivity, Microsoft 365 Copilot, Microsoft Power Applications / Power BI, Microsoft Project Management tool, #AIFluency; #CyberSecurityFluency, #GenerativeAI, #BingChat, etc.
• to provide digital functional literacy, digital productivity required in AI-enabled / driven economy, while ensuring safety, security, privacy, transparency, and inclusivity.
• Civil servants will be able to leverage the technology and power platforms which will enable the civil servants with the real time and democratized decision making.

As the artificial intelligence and Generative AI is taking prominence for economic activities and impacting people's lives, we will increase the focus of the training on topics viz., Responsible AI, Generative AI, AI Fluency, Cyber Security fluency & awareness besides digital productivity. This will invariably help the civil servants to be better equipped with the concepts and the nuances of these concepts, and how to use them for citizen centric services.

Deployment Model of Providing & Scaling Training Program

Microsoft will leverage our Microsoft Community Training Platform (MCT), powered by Azure. MCT is a Learning Management Solution (LMS), which contains byte size videos (or practical simulation videos). These videos provide learning content for the beneficiary audiences. It's a simple, succinct and easy method to learn. Microsoft Community Training is integrated with the Karmayogi Bharat (Integrated Government Online Training - iGOT) platform, which provides seamless access to the beneficiary users to various training modules.

Ultimately, this initiative will digitally empower the civil servants to provide efficient and effective citizen centric services esp. to the vulnerable and underprivileged sections of the society. It will enable them to deliver last mile social welfare services.

The collaboration and the initiative are in line with the mission of Microsoft and the #DigitalIndia vision of Government of India.
