Microsoft Most Valuable Professional 2004-2024
? Guy Barrette
Guy has now triumphantly entered the realm of a well-deserved and truly magnificent retirement, basking in unparalleled tranquility, far removed from the craziness of Information Technology.
After 20 years of being awarded Microsoft Most Valuable Professional, it's time for me to retire from the program. This means that I won't submit my name for renewal this time.
To be honest, I haven't had a single contribution (presentations, user group meetings, etc.) in the last 12 months, my professional and personal focus being elsewhere now.
Still, 20 years of community works is quite an achievement. It all started with my involvement in a brand new user group called the VB and C++ Montreal User Group. The funny thing is that there never was a single C++ presentation made, VB taking the spotlight. The group evolved into a .NET/C# group also incorporating other topics from the Microsoft dev ecosystem.
I was involved in running the Microsoft developer's user group for about 23 years. I met many awesome people and made many good memories.
I was fortunate to be part of the MVP Program when it was at it's peak, attending memorable MVP Summits. Again, I met so many awesome people and made many good memories.
If you're interested in learning more about being an MVP, I'd suggest you take a look a the MVP Program Website. If you're a student, take a look at the Student Ambassadors Program.
Au revoir MVP Program, and thanks for the memories!

11 个月Guy - I fondly remember when you and Alexandre Brisebois hosted me and Maura Wilder while we visited Montréal. It was a blast speaking to Groupe Azure?Montréal back in those early days of Azure - very close to 10 years ago. Oh, and I got to practice my French when creating this blog post back then: https://blog.codingoutloud.com/2014/05/09/talk-top-azure-features-every-asp-net-developer-should-know-about-at-groupe-azure-montreal/ Best wishes in your next 20 years of adventure! Look me up if you come through Boston!
