Microsoft Loop App Coming, Timeline markers in Meeting recordings + the renaming of a SharePoint Web Part

What a big week it has been in #Microsoft365. Here is you weekly hand-picked view of the Microsoft 365 Roadmap + Message Centre announcements from my mind to yours.

Microsoft Loop App Coming to Public Preview (MC525137 · Published 9 Mar 2023)

#MicrosoftLoop is a web and mobile co-creation app. It is designed for your team to think, plan, and create together. The Loop App will be disabled by default for your organization.

When this will happen:?The Loop app will be released to Public Preview late March 2023.

Microsoft Teams: Timeline Markers in Meeting Recordings When User’s Name is Mentioned (Teams Premium)

Targeted Release:?Rollout will begin in early March and is expected to be complete by late March.

Standard Release:?Rollout will begin in late March and is expected to be complete by late April.

GCC:?Rollout will begin in late April and is expected to be complete by late May.

How this will affect your organization:?For users with a #MicrosoftTeams Premium license, you will see icons appear above the video timeline of a Teams meeting recording to indicate when the user’s name was mentioned during a meeting. The markers are personalized so that only the user will see when their name was mentioned. The markers will help the user see who mentioned his/her name and in which context, and to easily jump to that part of the meeting.

[SharePoint] - Renaming File viewer webpart to 'File and Media'

The #SharePoint file viewer webpart will be renamed to 'File and Media' to make this webpart inclusive of more file types like videos.

When this will happen:

Standard Release:?We will begin rolling out in mid-March and expect to complete rollout by mid-April 2023.

How this will affect your organization:?Users will see the new name for the webpart. Functionally, nothing changes with respect to the capabilities of the webpart. This is a step to educate users about the capabilities of the webpart beyond Word, Excel, PowerPoint, PDF and extended to videos as well.

Microsoft Teams: Spatial Audio

Spatial Audio brings next-generation spatialized audio to Teams, where you can meet like you're there together. This intelligent audio technology makes the meeting experience more natural, inclusive and focused for everyone.

General Availability:?May 2023

Microsoft Purview compliance portal: Data Lifecycle Management - Cloud attachments support for Viva Engage / Yammer messages

Previously, cloud attachments worked only for links and link attachments shared in Outlook and Microsoft Teams. Now, cloud attachments will also work with #Yammer / #VivaEngage user and community messages.

Microsoft Teams: Enhanced OneDrive file picker

Users can leverage the new UI to more easily navigate, access and pick files from OneDrive, SharePoint and Teams.

Microsoft Search: Video Search in Bing, Office.com, SharePoint, and Stream

A new Video vertical on Bing, Office.com, SharePoint, and #Stream will provide better search capabilities for videos in your organization.

SharePoint: Site Sharing will use Azure B2B Invitation Manager for External Sharing

The SharePoint Site sharing experience will now use #Azure B2B Invitation Manager when new external users are invited, instead of the SharePoint Invitation Manager.
