Overview

As part of Microsoft's ongoing security improvements, Microsoft Entra ID device registration for Android devices will soon be hardware-bound. This change will result in the automatic enablement of browser access during device registration. If your organization does not support Android devices, you can safely disregard this update.



Key Changes

  • Hardware-Bound Device Registration: Microsoft Entra ID will now require device identities to be tied to the hardware.
  • Retirement of Enable Browser Access (EBA) Feature: Users will no longer have the option to enable this feature manually in the Microsoft Authenticator app and Microsoft Company Portal app for Android.
  • Automatic Browser Access Enablement: Once the EBA feature is retired, browser access will be enabled by default during device registration.
