Microsoft backs up all my data, right?

Microsoft backs up all my data, right?

We hope you all had a lovely Easter and got to reboot and recharge! Now we're back into work mode, it's the perfect time to let you know the latest IT updates and that includes clearing up a common misconception that a lot of Microsoft users may not know about.

1) Microsoft backs up all my data, right? ??

There's a common misconception in most businesses that 微软 backs up all your data, but looking at Microsoft's 'Shared Responsibility Model', the person responsible for backing up your data, is you. Microsoft state in their Services agreement under section 6b:

'In the event of an outage or disruption to the Service, you may not be able to retrieve Your Content. We recommend that you regularly backup Your Content and Data that you store on the Services or store using Third-Party Apps and Services.'
Microsoft's Shared Responsibility Model

If you cannot retrieve data, you will struggle to keep your business running smoothly and the downtime that would arise from this could be damaging to your business. As Microsoft CEO, Satya Nadella states,

'data is the currency of the digital age. Safeguarding it is paramount to your success.'

If you want to learn more about Microsoft's agreement, we're hosting a free webinar on Thursday, 2nd May. Joined by Microsoft expert, Andy Malone and speakers at Acronis, this is the perfect opportunity to get answers to your questions when it comes to Microsoft backup.
