Microneedling is an effective anti-aging procedure that helps to combat multiple skin imperfections. This procedure can be used for the face, body, and scalp.
During the procedure, the skin is rolled with a specialized device: a microneedle roller or derma pen, which leaves many small punctures in the upper layer of the epidermis.
Microneedling stimulates the process of natural tissue repair, thanks to which collagen and elastin begin to be actively produced in the cells. These substances are responsible for the youth and beauty of our skin, making it firm and elastic. Over time, the amount of collagen and elastin in the skin decreases that is why wrinkles form on the surface of the skin.
In addition to improving collagen and elastin production, the microneedling procedure improves the absorption of beneficial substances into the skin, and therefore various microneedling cocktails (mesococktails) are actively used during the procedure. The use of mesococktails can significantly improve the effect of the procedure and solve certain skin problems, for example: reduce pigmentation or get rid of post-acne.
Due to the skin's ability to actively regenerate after microneedling, it is also used to remove scars. If the scars are small and superficial, then microneedle rollers and derma pens with a needle length of no more than 1 mm are used for the procedure, but if the scars are large and deep, then needles up to 2.5 mm are used.
