In collaboration with @Mouser and @All About Circuits, we are excited to introduce the 2025 Configurable Logic Design Challenge–an opportunity for engineers, makers and innovators to showcase their creativity using Microchip’s Configurable Logic Block (CLB) peripheral. With expert judges, complimentary development tools and a $10,000 prize pool, this competition is your chance to demonstrate how you “Think Outside the Blocks.”
What is the Challenge?
Your task is to create a unique solution using the CLB peripheral on Microchip’s PIC16F13145 Curiosity Nano Evaluation Kit. Whether it’s for sustainability, IoT, automation or a completely new domain, the only limit is your imagination.

How it Works
?? Step 1: Pitch Your Idea
Submit an abstract outlining your project concept through our contest page. Selected participants will receive a free PIC16F13145 Curiosity Nano Evaluation Kit to bring their ideas to life.
?? Step 2: Develop Your Project
If selected, you’ll use the CLB and the development kit to build your design. Find resources in our Technical Help Forum and explore our CLB Code Examples.
?? Step 3: Submit Your Final Design
Show us what you built! Submit a video of your working project along with detailed documentation, including:
● Introduction – Your project idea and reasoning
●?Methodology – Explanation with schematics
●?Results – Data, analysis and performance metrics
●?Discussion – Challenges faced and solutions
●?Conclusion – Summary and future improvements
?? Step 4: Win Big
A panel of expert judges will evaluate projects based on creativity, technical execution, and documentation quality. Winners will receive a share of the $10,000 prize pool:
?? First Place – $5,000 + free registration for Microchip MASTERs 2026*
?? Second Place – $2,500
?? Third Place – $1,000
?? Fourth & Fifth Place – Gaming PC
?? The winning project will also be showcased at the MASTERs Maker Event!
*Excludes travel.
Judging Criteria
Projects will be assessed on:
? Design: Problem-solving, usability, and creativity with the CLB
? Hardware: Use of the CLB and Microchip MCU
? Documentation: Clarity and completeness of project reporting
