SKT is happy to present ‘Elevate’ and ‘Virtual Vacation’ two artworks by Michelle Louise Jones.

Michelle comes from a family of creatives and is a self-taught artist. Her work has been displayed at galleries and eateries around the Bay Area as well as a top medical spa in Los Angeles.

The artist grew up in Southern California and currently resides in San Francisco the warm atmosphere of which is clearly reflected in her paintings. Light and dreamy canvases lure the viewers in and make their eyes travel through the translucent layers of paint.

Michelle sees her art in strong relation to spaces, as it fills them with freshness and creative inspiration. The artworks inspired by travel and street art are a strong juxtaposition of geometric and organic forms, behind the confident strokes and runs of paint. Although mostly abstract the paintings also show recognisable things, such as palm trees and clouds. They shine through the thin layers of paint over them.

While painting abstractly, Michelle catches the essence and atmosphere of her surroundings and masterfully transfers it onto the canvas. The translucent layers evoke curiosity and the lively colours of the paintings with zesty yellows and oranges shining through the dreamy pinks inspire the eye.
