On March 16th, I reached out to Michael for help. When we initially spoke, Michael was very frank about accomplishing this his way, trusting the process, which I did. 

Michael sent me a series of emails containing inquiries and questions referred to as “exercises.” As I worked through my responses, the exercises served to be liberating and inspiring, causing me sometimes to remember tasks and accomplishments that I had achieved that were not part of my existing resume or LinkedIn profile.

Inside of 6 days, so March 22nd, Michael had restructured my resume and LinkedIn profile which I immediately rolled out to 10 direct employers and 6 industry recruiters that I previously knew and had already identified. 

The best part about the new resume and LinkedIn profile is that it conveyed my “total” professional story and gave me very specific, detailed, and topical talking points to discuss with potential employers as I actively engaged in networking. In addition, Michael’s book and job search guide armed me with valuable guidance as I aggressively put myself in play in the job market. 

Out of the total 16 contact points, I had scheduled 12 interviews and meetings within the next 2 weeks, half of which materialized into second interviews and beyond. By the middle of April, I had 4 legitimate opportunities where possible job-offer and detailed compensation discussions were underway. During the first week of May, I accepted the job that I felt strongest about and was the best fit for me throughout the entire process.

Michael’s “process” and finished resume and LinkedIn profile product armed me with the confidence and tools I needed to network and organize my job search. Employers were well aware of the strength of my candidacy well before we even had initial discussions.
