Miami in the UK? Absolutely, yes!!!

Miami in the UK? Absolutely, yes!!!

The Nici, formerly the Savoy Hotel, Bournemouth, has been grabbed by the boot straps, shaken (not stirred) and transformed into a mega classy, Miami, Art Deco feel, 5star hotel.

The Nici is leading the way in a revolution happening across Bournemouth, with mini villages appearing and clusters of high-end restaurants opening, but in truth once you’ve checked into the hotel, you probably wouldn’t need or want to set foot in the outside world.

The hotel opened in 2022 and has two new additions on track to be ready and opened by mid-June, ahead of the height of the British summer, which will turn the hotel into a boutique, resort venue.

It’s all very, very exciting

Fire Pit in the Grounds

From the moment you set eyes on the hotel, from the entrance doors, to the imagery on the walls, the hotel, quietly screams Miami.

It’s sophisticated, refined and very elegant.

What is this hotel ideal for?? You name it!? For me, exclusive use events.? A retro party vibe.? A product launch, a brand launch.? As a backdrop, the hotel is amazing.

It has everything under one roof to inform, network, reward and incentivise.

Accommodation

The hotel has 88 bedrooms, four main category types; Cosy, Standard, Sea View, and Suite.

I viewed Standard and Suite.? Standard being the main entry level.

All rooms are elegantly designed.? Simple, colour schemes, white background with splashes of bold colour.?

All rooms have a Nespresso machine, Monsoon showers and the usual amenities (tea/coffee making, mini bar, robe, safe) and many have terraces or balconies with views over the hotels outside pool, cabanas, fire pits, gardens, and the sea beyond.

Oh, oh and complimentary spiced rum in each bedroom too!

Let’s talk about the poolside suites.? There are ten of these suites, all garden level.? All are pet friendly with direct access to the hotel’s gardens, pool, and fire pits.

Each has a terrace which you can close off the world to with curtains surrounding each terrace, enclosing sun loungers and a jacuzzi.

Imagine a warm summer evening, a bottle of rose and a couple of glasses.? What are your choices?? A dip in your own jacuzzi, a chat by a fire pit, a swim in the heated outdoor pool, all with DJ vibes from Old Harry Rocks in the background.

What does the hotel have to offer?? Again, where to start.

  • Private meeting rooms and semi-private meeting areas.
  • An indoor pool (18m pool with hydro pool, sauna, and steam room)
  • An outdoor pool (heated and accessible all year round)
  • A spa, treatment rooms and a relaxation room (finalist for the Best Hotel Spa)
  • A gym
  • A studio
  • A wrap around lounge and restaurant with tonnes of smaller nooks that you can curtain off for added privacy.
  • Two sunken fire pits in the gardens
  • Poolside cabanas
  • A car park (I know, boring but necessary)

And, opening mid-June …

  • A yoga studio in the hotel’s grounds with views directly over the sea
  • A second restaurant, Old Harry Rocks, in the gardens, again overlooking the sea with a DJ deck (available for exclusive buy outs)

Honestly, grab your colleagues, head for Bournemouth.? Here you can work, play, inform and reward.

The hotel even has a host of water sport equipment too so, within the briefest of walks down a zig zag path, you’re on 7miles of sand and in the sea with tonnes of team building activity potential.

Ocean Drive Meeting Room

For business content, the hotel has several private meeting rooms and semi-private areas …

Ocean Drive, maximum capacity 120 theatre style or 70 cabaret style.? Natural daylight and direct access to the hotel’s rear terrace.? With moveable dividers that double as a bar, the terrace space can be adapted to suit group numbers.

As well as having the terrace as an option, from this meeting room you can also directly access a portion of the hotel’s main restaurant either for a semi private lunch, pre-dinner drinks, etc.

The main hotel restaurant, South Beach Restaurant and Bar , is generously spaced out.? No two tables are on top of each another.? With approximately 80 covers, a buyout is possible.? The adjoining outside (partially covered) terrace stretches the width of the hotel.

Semi Private area in South Beach Restaurant

The Snug (to the rear of the restaurant, on the edge of the lounge, pictured below) can be privatised by closing the surrounding curtains, with direct access to the bar and its own disco ball.

The Library (also in the main lounge area) is idea for a semi private gathering of 10 – 12.

There’s also another meeting room, Little Havana which was in use during my visit.? That can accommodate 30 cabaret style maximum.

And a mini, 12-seater cinema.? Very cute!

The Snug

London Waterloo to Bournemouth by train is under 2hours.? Driving time from Reading, Berkshire, circa 1hour10minutes … not bad!

What’s not to like, absolutely nothing at all.
