The affluent suburb of Meyersdal and its’ surrounds (situated just off the R59 – Michelle Avenue) is fast becoming a commercial hub for those wishing to escape the often chaotic life style of the big cities. Meyersdal is known as a typical bedroom community, meaning that is it a community primarily residential in character, with most of its workers commuting to a nearby town suburb or city to earn their livelihood. Situated on the banks of the Natal Spruit close to the major urban centres of Johannesburg and Pretoria, Meyersdal is home to a number of fairly new A-grade office parks and prestigious residential developments. Residential developments offer prime positioned stands, beautifully finished properties with totally unspoiled views of bush veld expanses.
The growing commercial interest in Meyersdal has led to a demand for prime office real estate with a number of Grade A office parks in and around Meyersdal. Gross rentals for Grade A office parks are between R90 and R115 per square metre, excluding VAT. The average size of office space leased ranges from 100 square metres to 500 square metres. Such buildings will be situated in a prime location and will have adequate on-site parking (a minimum ratio of 4 bays per 100 square metres of leased premises). The buildings will have high quality finishes and standard features like air-conditioning.
The major residential suburbs neighbouring Meyersdal in the greater Johannesburg South are Alberton, Brackenhurst, Brackendowns, Florentia, Glenanda, Glenvista, Mondeor and Winchester Hills to name a few. These residential suburbs are on the whole up market and consist of townhouses, clusters, suburban homes and prime commercial office parks. There are a growing number of affluent residential property developments in Meyersdal – a good example would be the Meyersdal Eco Estate. Meyersdal Eco Estate is one of the most up market and exclusive private residential estates forming part of the larger 1080ha Meyersdal Nature Area.
There is ample choice when it comes to entertainment in the area with a multitude of shopping centres and restaurants - De Marionette Centre , Meyersdal Mall and Jacqueline Mall to name a few. Meyersdal is an attractive option for families and businesses – which offers lucrative property investments in this relatively quiet residential node.
