Mexico Achieves 38% Digital Maturity in 2024: The Challenge of Transforming Towards 2025

In an increasingly digitalized world, Mexico has reached a score of 38.26% in digital maturity, according to the 2024 Digital Maturity Report by Needed Education, in collaboration with KIO, EY, and the American Chamber. While this marks progress compared to the 34.93% obtained in 2023, it still falls short of the ideal 70% needed to compete globally.

Where Do We Stand?

  1. Lagging Technological Transformation: Many companies have yet to integrate advanced digital tools into their operations, limiting competitiveness.
  2. Adoption of Artificial Intelligence (AI): Although 87% of leaders recognize the need for AI strategies, only 33% feel prepared to implement them. Generative AI, with applications in marketing, logistics, and customer service, is seen as a critical technology, but adoption remains low.
  3. Regression in Data Analytics: The ability to interpret large volumes of information dropped from 35.40% to 33.34%, reflecting stagnation in data-driven decision-making.

What Are the Opportunities?

  • Training in Digital Skills: Prioritizing the development of a digital mindset, data-driven decision-making, and cybersecurity is crucial.
  • Strategic AI Initiatives: Mexican executives need clarity and tools to implement AI in key processes.
  • Active Involvement of Human Resources: This department must integrate into the design of digital strategies, aligning organizational culture with technological objectives.
