Mexican Cartel Attacks U.S. Consulate

On Sunday/Monday, March 13-14, gunmen affiliated with the “Cartel Del Norte,” which is affiliated with the “Los Zetas,” attacked the U.S. consular building, a Mexican military base, and other buildings in Nuevo Laredo, Mexico, across the river from Laredo, TX. Sources in Mexico say the attacks were a response to a Mexican military operation targeting a cartel leader known as “El Huevo or the Egg,” Juan Gerardo Trevino, who is nephew of the jailed kingpin Miguel Angel “Z-40” Trevino.
Mexico’s federal government has not revealed much official information about the violence, nor has the local news media in Nuevo Laredo or Laredo, TX. Even Univision and Telemundo in the U.S. have been silent on the story.
Sadly, while The Biden Administration worries about climate change, the cartels also continue to make money off human and drug smuggling. In addition, a recent report showed that the seven most violent cities in the world were in Mexico. Americans cannot let Mexican violence and crime infect their communities.
Like all criminals who don’t fear punishment or respect authority, the cartels have been emboldened by leftist Mexican President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador and the liberal Biden Administration. The U.S. should take some action against the cartel for this attack.
