Salary - £42,000 - £46,000 basic + Car or Allowance + Lodging allowance depending on home location

Role Description

The Resolute Group is working in partnership with a Tier 1 contractor working on HS2 and delivering a section of work in the Birmingham region. We need a Methods Engineer to support the site teams when delivering Temporary works packages. With a focus on delivering high-quality and safe work methods within the HS2 project standards. This role would suit a Project Engineer with site experience.

Ensuring the following tasks are clearly defined:

  • Temporary Works requirements
  • Lifting plans related to any lifting operation
  • Design of the lifting equipment requirements
  • Technical scope of Works with the construction teams
  • Review and validate the elaboration of drawings

Day-to-day duties will vary but could include:

  • Producing method statements and risk assessments always takes care of their feasibility and clears any risk occurrence.
  • The Method Engineer will take care of the safety feedback of the construction teams and revise the procedures accordingly.
  • Prepares and raises Temporary Works Briefs, following up to ensure timely implementation.
  • Carries out on-site safety visits, reports any discrepancy with the procedures to the construction teams and writes reports accordingly
  • Ensures the understanding of the input and requirements defined by the Temporary Works Coordinator as well as the design and construction teams.
  • Ability to read design documents and interrogate temporary works designers accordingly
  • Identifies technical problems and proposes technical solutions
  • Maintains a comprehensive filing system of quality records aligned to the Project Quality Handover requirements.

This is a site-based role, interacting between all the stakeholders in the process, as such you will be in the office or at the site 3 days a week as standard with 2 days from home. This may change depending on the project requirements.

Qualifications:

Degree in Civil Engineering / Structural engineering or related subject

Experience with temporary work, be it Design, Coordination, or interfacing.
