The Metaverse World - A 3D Internet/virtual world of the next era.

As per the survey report - 75% of the companies are aiming to start their journey in and around technologies related to / driving Metaverse.

In Simple words, Metaverse is a meetup point - A world, where multiple - different technologies/products/services will work together to project single or multiple interoperable online worlds (i.e. Metaverse World).

"Hence Metaverse World is a fusion of two words, Metallic and Universe."

We have seen lots of talks around Technologies such as VR, AR, AI (i.e. NLP/DLP/ML/Computer Vision), 5G, Blockchain, NFTs, and many others all sit within the “Metaverse World” & Powering to enable of “The Metaverse”

Let us understand each and every technology/section around Metaverse & Metaverse World in detail

** "AI will play a very vital role in making Metaverse possible."

" In simplest terms, the Metaverse is the Internet, but in 3D and altogether an interesting new chapter where humans will interact.. communicate.. and perform tasks logically with the pieces of software called avatars in the Metaverse World..."

1) Blockchain => In Simple Words => Decentralization + Transparency + Data Governance & Security

• The backbone technology of the Metaverse, as most of the applications, will run on the blockchain.
• It provides Decentralization (for storing data in form of blocks & reduce the chance of malfunction) and Transparency (i.e. for Data Governance, Digital Collectability / Accessibility / Interoperability)
• Once the information is stored in Blocks – It makes data irreversible - which makes Metaverse process free from manipulations and provides transparency.

2) CryptoCurrency => In simple words – Within Metaverse World - Only cryptocurrencies are accepted to carry out any type of transaction – be it Sell / Purchase / Exchange

• Example_1 =>?Digital Real Estate to buy a House / Land (Virtual Land)
• Example_2 =>?Purchasing a Game within Metaverse World
• Example_3 =>?Purchasing 16x16 meter land parcels in the form of Non-fungible tokens (NFTs) (i.e. non-interchangeable)

3) AR (Augmented Reality) & VR (Virtual Reality) => In simple words – both techniques play a vital role in enabling 3-D environments and making Metaverse to be a “Bewitching Virtual Experience” for the end users. However, AR plays a more vital role as it can provide physical simulation.

• VR (Virtual Reality) => Enables users to see 3D simulations but “can’t provide physical simulations” (which is a critical concept/need within the Metaverse world)
• AR (Augmented Reality) => “It can provide physical simulations – i.e. enabling users to actually feel things (for example – end users can hear, feel and interact with the virtual metaverse world stuffs as if they are physically present in that environment.
• Looking at the need it's always VR + AR technologies working together / combined to create a more realistic metaverse world.

" The possibility of AR & VR is possible with help of Artificial Intelligence (AI), as it plays a vital role in creating Avatars / Digital Humans / Digital characters and etc. "

4) Artificial Intelligence (AI) => In simple words - AI will play a vital role in improving Metaverse Performance & Efficiency (understand user inputs, from text to images and even videos, but also to respond correctly regardless of the user's input language), along with creating Avatars or Digital Humans who will act/interact with End Users.

Some of the key tasks which AI will do/help in are as below:-

==> Creation of Avatars (Self Avatars – which looks like themself) => Helping end user to Design & Create - Realistic & Accurate Avatars of themselves in the virtual world, it's very fascinating that users can picture themselves in the Metaverse world and are able to change their facial look, Hair, Colour, Style of clothing to their preference and etc. to enhance the appearance of the Self - Avatars.

==> Creation of Digital Humans / 3D Chatbots / Non-playing characters (NPC) for Games / Digital assistant => React and Respond to end user’s actions in a Metaverse world. With the help of AI / NLP / Computer Vision – Digital Humans get the ability to See, Listen, Understand, Interpret & React to end users inputs. They can also use body motion/body language to create human-like conversations and interactions.

==> Make machines think / work & act like humans => Quality Check, Content Analysis, Self-Supervised Speech Processing, Robotic interactions, Computer Vision and whole-body pose estimation

==> Make machines learn like humans (from their Mistakes / Observations / Data / Stats / via external inputs or feeds) => Helps in making the output superior to the previous one. Eventually, scalability will increase with reduced human interference.

==> Computer Vision (an application/technique of AI) used to make AR VR and XR possible => In Virtual World, Computer Vision will act as an Eye for us (end-user) – So that we can See / Interpret / Interact / Experience & Identify issues which eventually enables AR / VR / XR.

==> Facilitate the process for Metaverse => It helps for Business or Strategy planning | Fast Computing | Multiple Interfaces & Use of AI algorithms to provide unique outputs and insights. The predictive nature of AI and its ability to maintain real-time data has built the foundations of the metaverse.

==> Able to Handle Huge Data, Process it Quickly & Learn from it => Capable to process enormous amounts of data & Very quickly. When used in conjunction with machine learning strategies, AI algorithms may learn from earlier iterations and use historical data to provide original outputs and insights.

==> Best Part is it makes Metaverse - Multilingual (multiple language features) accessible

5) Internet of Things (IoT) / Machine to Machine (M2M) => In simple words – IoT makes every element of our physical world connect to the internet through sensors & devices. Once connected, these devices will possess a unique identifier and the ability to send or receive information automatically. (e.g. thermostats/medical devices etc.)

So, Inputs from IoT devices along with AI / ML Techniques will be inputs to improve and optimize the metaverse environment by managing the data that it collected.

Examples

• Weather or Temperature data collected to project that it is raining, Snow Fall or Rainfall.
• Seamlessly connected to the 3D world via a large number of IoT devices. (360-degree inputs to sense and project it)

6) Edge Computing & 5G => In simple words – Edge Computing & 5G will facilitate faster data transfer with very low latency & very low delays and helps to Interconnect all Nodes / Networking components / IoT devices and etc. - smoothly and quickly.

With 5G Data availability – we will have immense network speed which will enable users to engage in the metaverse environment and enjoy a truly immersive virtual experience.?
