Metaverse is getting closer

We don’t live in the metaverse yet, but it’s slowly getting closer to us. Digital twins, meta-offices, and meta-trainings. All of this can change our lives ... or not because until the market tests the working product, it is difficult to be sure of the digital universe’s success.

Half of the experts interviewed about the future of the metaverse by 2040 by the Pew Research Center are optimistic, and half is the opposite. Various scenarios are presented by Deloitte too.?

Pessimists argue that augmented and mixed reality will rather dominate, as technological advances will not yet allow the full use of the Metaverse. People may also just prefer the good old real universe and use the digital one only occasionally.

Meta, of course, believes in the bright future of the alternative universe (as can be seen from the name of the company, which they probably wanted to appropriate the whole idea). The company has already introduced meta-accounts. You can create one if you have Oculus goggles and then log in to Facebook and Instagram using it.

In turn, Nvidia develops the Omniverse platform. One of its uses (apart from game development or animation) is building your own metaverse. Omniverse Create allows multiple people to create a digital world together. Al Pose converts movements into a 3D model, and Audio2Face gives the avatar facial expressions based on the sound of the voice.

It is not known whether we will be able to fully immerse ourselves in the metaverse by 2040, but eventually, such an experience awaits us. Powered by AI this will certainly be a new quality. The question is, to what extent will we want to live in it?
