META's Gamescom Highlights

META's Gamescom Highlights

It's already been three whole weeks since we graced the hallowed halls of the K?lnmesse for our first Gamescom, and we're still obsessing over our week there! So to (hopefully) wrap up our coverage of our trip there, we wanted to share our highlights of our time on the Rhine.

What was your favourite part of Gamescom?

Rian - The Expo itself. The stands were insanely big and it was so impressive seeing how much effort went into them all

Jaimee - My highlight would definitely be Opening Night Live. The atmosphere in there was so good and there were so many upcoming releases that looked super exciting!

Alex - Getting to see Opening Night Live in person was incredible, seeing all the announcements live (as well as the chance to flex to my mates the whole time)

What were your favourite games that you tried?

Rian - I couldn't choose between Grid Force - Mask Of The Goddess and Tower of Fantasy, they're such different games but both of them were really fun to play

Jaimee - Everyone knows I love games like Genshin Impact so Tower of Fantasy and Honkai: Star Rail were for sure my favourite demos that I got my hands on. I adore playing that art style - basic I know

Alex - I found Metal: Hellsinger really surprising, it was challenging but so satisfying when it all clicked. My overall favourite though was Grid Force, it was a great indie with some awesome mechanics

What was your best non-gaming part?

Rian - The merch area was huge and had so much going on. The Square Enix store especially was great and I was able to get myself a few things I'd been looking for for awhile

Jaimee - What would Gamescom be without the scooters? Zipping about on them was so much fun - although I almost rode straight into the Rhine one evening...

Alex - Heading to the zoo for a day off was a nice break from the chaos of Gamescom, and I'll never turn down a chance to see some monkeys and weird birds

And so with that it's finally time for us to stop talking about Gamescom for this year (no promises though). See you all again the same time next year!
