Meta’s AI assistant and so much more!

These past few weeks, there has been a lot of talk online about a new policy from Meta regarding data privacy and the use of people’s content to train its AI. Today, we will give you an overview of Meta AI and its direction towards the future.

Meta AI

Meta’s AI is an AI assistant capable of doing a multitude of tasks. It is currently built on the Meta Llama 3 model which integrates real-time search results from Google and Bing since 18 April 2024. Accessible on Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp, Messenger, and Meta.ai, this integration enhances the AI’s capabilities, providing you access to information across platforms without changing from one app to another. (Please note this feature is not available yet in all regions.)

Currently, Meta AI can do a variety of tasks:

  • Real-time assistance: It can help you plan events, study for tests, and provide real-time information across Meta’s apps.
  • Image generation: The assistant can create images as you type, allowing you to generate album artwork, décor inspiration, and custom GIFs.
  • Accessibility: It offers features that enhance accessibility, like adding chatbots to group chats to assist with various tasks.
  • Educational support: The assistant can solve maths problems and help draft professional emails through the ‘meta.ai’ website.

These new changes have generated some uncertainty for many people like marketers, influencers and business owners who rely daily on social media.

This is why we have asked our social media expert, Sivan H. at Webcertain, to answer some of your most frequent questions:

How will this feature change the way people use social media?

Perhaps no obvious changes will be seen in the early stages, as people are still in the process of accepting new technology and won’t treat it as a daily habit. However, over time, people will find social media more interactive and convenient, integrating it into their everyday lives as an “answering your questions" assistant.

Is it worth creating content from scratch or can you just rely on Meta AI?

Content creators should use AI as a tool to aid in creating original content that caters to their audience's best?interests and serves its intended purpose. AI makes the research process easier and acts as an inspiration generator by providing various sources. Additionally, with visuals generated to meet your needs in seconds, creating engaging content has never been easier.?AI can help refine and finalise human-created drafts for publication, enhancing efficiency while maintaining originality and novelty for the audience.

LinkedIn newsletter

The number of LinkedIn members publishing newsletter articles has increased by 59% over the past year and engagement on these newsletters is also up 47%. LinkedIn has responded to this data by offering more features for newsletter. Now, the display is much clearer, with options to personalise the cover images and you can get notified when people subscribe to your newsletter.

YouTube thumbnails

YouTube will be launching its new Thumbnail Test & Compare feature for all channels over the next few weeks. This allows creators to test up to three thumbnails for each video and decide which one performs better based on watch time.

It will determine whether one of the three was a winner, a preferred or none. This makes it simpler for your company to analyse thumbnail performance and adapt future videos.

That’s it for this edition
