Metanoiz's New EP Is Coming Soon and it is named: LEMNISCATE which means, infinity. Their managers are Michael Katz and John Henry Soto. At the social media site: LinkedIn, Michael first introduced me to their group’s talents by leaving links for me to see the group’s videos in my inbox. I saw their videos and became so interested in seeing the artists perform “Live.” I immediately made plans to interview them in person when I came north from Florida during the summer months. I was not disappointed.

It was a beautiful day in July when I arrived at New York City’s Citi-Field in Queens Borough to see this exciting new recording act named: METANOIZ. The Mets Baseball would play the Washington Nationals later that day so the group got plenty of exposure to acquire new fans. This was a brilliant booking move by their managers. What I witnessed were two young men who were vibrant, energetic and quite linguistically skilled. They had a swagger that was second to none as they stepped and rapped across the stage. They were comfortable onstage. They performed quite fluidly as if they were born to be performing before a large audience. After interviewing them I was convinced that they were born to be stars. I see and hear a lot of recording acts but Metanoiz had a performing element that no other Rap act had. I often observe other Rap-Music artist with new recordings. Many of them have the same message in their rap-lyrics. So, it’s hard to find the #unique aspect in some of the artist’s music works. But when I saw METANOIZ perform I immediately could identify something that I had not seen in other new rap artist. It was a feat that could not be artificially or electronically duplicated. Kaydom and Kaydas of Metanoiz are identicaltwin brothers.

They are identical in their rapping skills and in their appearance. At last I had been introduced to new talent that was original and #UNIQUE! The ‘METANOIZ” TWINS are #BRILLIANT & TALENTED! What I saw that day was two young men who could easily make the transition from recording artists to the TV or FILM Stars. They are just what industry execs have been looking for. They are a multi-marketable talent.

During our interview I discovered that they both grew up in the Poconos Mountain area near New York City and not far from Philadelphia. What was also unique was they did not offer me stories of horror growing up. Instead, they shared stories about their love for older, classic style music, and they also mentioned their many talent contest victories. They were won 1st Place in the indi.com Snoop Dogg video competition. They also won 1st Place in the 1500 or Nothing Talent Contest chosen both by the audience and the judge. They also told me that they began writing songs at the age of 9 years old. This group was #truly unique to say the least about them. They were one of a kind type of  performers in today’s “Hip-Hop Music” world market. 

HOW THEY CHOSE THEIR STAGE NAME: “METANOIZ”

How they chose their name was in a very interesting way. Kaydom and Kaydas thought of their new name during a high school class. Their name was derived from the original Greek literary word “metanoia.” Their interpretation of the word is very similar to that of many scholars’ definition and interpretation.
Meta = beyond, (as in metamorphosis) = beyond form or shape. Noia = mind: (customary rationality, customary logic). Therefore metanoia = transcendence of customary (linear) rationality, or, thinking outside the box. To Kaydom and Kaydas, the word metanoia meant (“new”). However, the twin rappers also realized that “meta” in Greek actually meant “beyond”. They removed the “A” out of “metanoia” and added a “Z” to create the name “Metanoiz”, which ultimately meant “beyond noise”.

METANOIZ & ORIGINAL MUSIC: 

I am a strong believer that each new artist has the unenviable task of overcoming obstacles and their competition in order for artists to ultimately find success. What can a rap artist do or say that no other rap artist hasn’t done or said already? First of all, Kaydom and Kaydas already has an edge in both of these two categories. They are identical twin-rappers. There’s no competition in this category. Their lyrical messages are positive. Most other rappers want to be a “Killer,” you would think by listening to their lyrics. Metanoiz have positive lyrics, which are a reflection of their young lives and their experiences. They have a growth edge over rappers who have scars left from previous life events. This becomes so apparent those kinds of lyrics that it is apparent that it is hard for many to get beyond their difficult past experiences as seen in their lyric messages! It is sad but true. Metanoiz had a good experience growing up. They embrace the spiritual side of life. That in itself makes them #unique. There’s a strong movement for recording artists to write in the form of self-expression that reflect their environment. Rappers as well as singers tend to express the kind of lyrics in their music from what they know best, whether it be from their hard luck lives living in poverty as youth, or their own personal sexual preferences. They wrote from the perspective of whatever is ever present in their minds. Over the past 6 decades there has always been songs about Sex, Drugs and Rock & Roll. But now the kind of songs that are missing in everyday mainstream music is songs about romance coming from our current musical community. But that’s’ okay because everything must and will change from decade to decade in the music industry. Only one artist sings about romantic love best and quite successfully, that is Adele. THE METANOIZ MUSICAL MESSAGE APPROACH:

METANOIZ approaches their stories from a totally different perspective. Their views are positive, fun loving and youthful. Their music reminds me of a time when Hip-Hop music was invented back in the Bronx and Brooklyn New York at picnics in the park there. The DJs would spin records on the turntable and MCs or rappers stood at the microphones entertaining their families and friends. I can now compare this  group's music to other Hip–Hop artist’s. I can honestly say that METANOIZ music is #UNIQUE, yet, very familiar.

LIMINSCATE EP PREVIEW:

Kaydom and Kaydas of Metanoiz Productions:  Their EP’s producer’s name is: Richard Rescigno. He has tended to the very special, twin rap artist’s music work as if they were his own children. For 5 years he has nurtured and supported their music to its maturity. They all have been embraced by an array of current Hip-Hop and R&B stars.

They have a featured appearance by Chris Rivers who is the son of one the legendary rappers of the 1990s, BIG PUN. In his performance he zigzags through the beat and rhythmically slices through his words like the Pro rapper he is. He performs with confidence, with a major swag that exhibits an all-in rap-performance on one of my favorites on the EP named:

“404040.” They also have the chorus of one their songs sung by the amazing R&B singer, Christon Gray. Although he has been known for his slick album production his performance on the song entitled: “II INFINITY,” is raw andsimplistically beautiful.

 Another one of the best rappers around who is featured on this EP is: Joell Ortiz. His performance on the song entitled: “Treble Trouble,” (which is another one of my favorites from this EP), he gives one the best rap performances I’ve ever heard. Chris Rivers & Joell Ortiz truly proves, in their respective rap performances, just why they are two of the most loved rappers in today’s Hip-Hop music scene.

This EP has songs that are intelligent, profound, reminiscent, familiar, unusual, musical, and linguistically skillful. That is an uncommon combination in today’s Hip-Hop music world. The best way that I can describe this EP it: LINISCATE is: Musical, testimonial and a declaration of just what kind of human beings Kaydas and Kaydem have chosen to be. They are intelligent poets, imaginative, and their music is original, and they have a unique style. I love the musical refrain played in a loop behind their rap lyrics on the 1993. It flows with the feeling of great things that will come in these talented men’s future. In their own words: 

“Their birth was a blessing and a curse. Two head are better than one.” 

I imagine that being a twin can be uncomfortable at times but these men recognize that they have a unique opportunity to make their fortunes in life better together. I truly believe that this each song describes them best. They are #Brilliant performers, and talented poets. When the first song entitled: “1993,” begins you will have to wait a bit before the rap begins but it is well worth the wait through its extended intro. As the EP plays through, each song unveils another layer of the deep conviction and dedication that these young men have to each other and to the God like ways that they have embraced and placed within their daily lives.  When the major record labels finally discover METANOIZ they will discover a seasoned act that will be a marketing executive’s crowning jewel.
