#Burnout has risen recently due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the shift to remote work. Burnout is a state of emotional, physical, and mental exhaustion caused by prolonged and excessive stress, and it can significantly impact a person's overall well-being and productivity.
According to a study by Indeed , 67% of workers have experienced burnout during the pandemic, and 50% reported feeling more burned out than a year ago. Additionally, a survey by Monster found that 69% of employees are experiencing burnout symptoms while working from home. Working from home has great benefits, but I struggle with turning the switch off. ?We all want to bring value and contribute to the mission, but failing to set boundaries can backfire in the long run!
Individuals can take several steps to prevent burnout and promote their own #well -being, including:
·????????Set boundaries: Set clear boundaries between work and personal time. This might include setting specific work hours, turning off notifications during personal time, and avoiding checking work emails or messages outside of work hours.
·????????Take breaks: Regular breaks, such as short walks or stretching exercises, throughout the workday. This can help reduce stress and prevent burnout.

·????????Practice self-care: Take care of yourself by eating well, getting enough sleep, and engaging in regular physical activity. Engage in activities you enjoy and help you relax, such as reading, listening to music, or spending time outdoors.
·????????Practice mindfulness: Practice mindfulness techniques, such as meditation or deep breathing exercises, to help manage stress and promote relaxation.
·????????Seek support: Reach out to friends, family members, or colleagues for help when feeling overwhelmed or stressed. Consider talking to a mental health professional if stress impacts your ability to function.
·????????Learn to say no: Learn to say no to additional work or responsibilities if you feel overwhelmed. It is okay to prioritize your well-being and limit what you can take on. Completing five projects well is better than partially finishing ten less effective ones.
Individuals can help prevent burnout and maintain their overall well-being by taking these steps. It's important to prioritize self-care and take proactive steps to manage stress and avoid burnout for personal health and long-term productivity and success.
