MetaMask Snap

MetaMask Snaps is a new feature for blockchain interoperability. According to project manager Alex Jupiter, a multichain future is “very clear”, and Snaps will allow permissionless development where dApp creators and developers can use MetaMask for anything they need.

A snap is described as a program that customizes the wallet experience, allowing new APIs, modifications to existing wallet functionality, and multi-blockchain protocol support.

Jupiter says that “technically it’s possible for us to incorporate all (blockchains)”. They have extended Bitcoin and StarkNet, so they believe it’s possible for any protocol.?
