We’re expanding the metadata we support - our members will soon be able to include publication types in the citations they register, version metadata, and the CRediT taxonomy for contributor roles. We’ve received a lot of feedback recently on our plans and will commence work soon (details soon to come!).? We are also forming a working group focused on multilingual and language metadata with goals to do a deep analysis into the current state of Crossref language support and adoption, issue community-led best practice guidelines, and generate momentum for encouraging language tagging adoption - Learn more.

Metadata Matching

Director of Data Science, Dominika Tkaczyk, has been doing a lot of work with matching. At Crossref, we match references to DOIs, preprints to journal articles, and working towards more types of matches. Best practices in open metadata

We recently relaunched Participation Reports, which give members a view into their participation in providing key metadata elements within the metadata records registered with Crossref. The reports help promote open metadata best practices and participation in a more complete scholarly record. Read more.??
