Meet The Real Slumdog Billionaire

????The most fulfilling skilled I have ever learned: Public Speaking | Coach Rakesh

WoW! I can not imagine that I will be speaking as my 16th Momondays speech at Momondays Guelph on Nov 25th.

When I look back and reflect on my public speaking rather, professional public speaking ( I can say that now!) journey which I can describe in these 5 steps helped me to get here.

1- ??A seed of desire to become speaker got planted at the early age of 11 after attending Mrs. Indira Gandhi's (then Prime Minister of India) political rally in my home town Raebarely, UP, India.

2-?? While working in Delhi started practicing my English speaking skills by visiting tourist places like Lal Quila (Red Fort), Qutub Minar and Lotus Temple and spoke to foreign tourists and especially women and for some reason, I felt more in ease speaking to women than men.

3- ??Joined Toastmaters here in Canada. A must place for all immigrants to join at least for two years. It will be a life transformation experience, especially for those immigrants who have never experienced hostel life. Especial thanks to my mentor Earl Tucker who gave me so much of support and confidence and appreciated me when he could not understand anything in my speech. I still remember, in the beginning, speeches, after the speech Earl used to say: Rakesh, I loved your energy and enthusiasm but do not understand anything as I used to speak so fast with so many grammatical errors, poor sentence structuring and lots of filler words like, actually, you know, etc etc.. and even still have them but less and improving every speech as a student.

4-?? Got introduced to Momondays by my good friend and very first mentor Deepak Manchanda and did deliver my very first speech at Momondays Brampton. Here is the full speech's YouTube link https://bit.ly/32XwGib

5-?? Hired my very first Speaking Coach Steve Lowell (https://www.stevelowell.com/) for a year and his mentorship prepared me to compete at High Impact Speaking, Ottawa among the 10 speakers and I won the " Most Heartfelt Speaker" award and that gave me the confidence and removed my fear and belief that I do not belong to mainstream Canadian Speakers. Here is the link for my full award-winning speech https://bit.ly/2KygddY

I would like to give my credit for my professional speaking entitlement to Momondays which never would have been possible without the founder Michel Neray, thanks to Michel and to my mentor and Coach Steve Lowell who made me an award-winning speaker in North America.

Especial thanks to hundreds and thousands of those awesome audiences who supported

Hope to see you all at Momodays Guelph and Mondays, Nov 25th.
