Met and Chatted with an amazing Founder of "Anyone can Draw" this morning

I first heard about Shreya ABCD- ANYBODY CAN DRAW when last month she had conducted an event in Chennai with IIT MADRAS ALUMNI ASSOCIATION

I was fascinated on seeing the post. Connected on LinkedIn with her and we wanted to meet each other in person sometime but it never happened for some reason.

Today morning, by chance we both met as a part of the Heritage Centre Walk. We had a chat over breakfast post the walk.

She described her work to me and wanted to know if she could do workshop at IIT for students and I said certainly, we do have courses for 1st year students lifeskills and art will be a great thing to have. I asked her how much do you charge - can you send a brochure and also rough amount you charge so that I could make arrangements.

She said "Anything is ok, I am not particular". She also added, having money related negotiations and conversations takes away the joy of doing. Was amazed and stunned. What she is saying is absolutely true. But its rare to find such an individual.

I do keep seeing her posts in LinkedIn having done workshops for a variety of schools, institutions hospitals etc. Now I get to meet such a wonderful person who does not get attached to money.

She also added that she had done 100+ free workshops during pandemic when she was living in Qatar. I was mindblown.

She also mentioned about her passion for sustainability. She had done free beach cleanups and sometimes alone (when no one was around). My admiration for her grew even more.

As a part of the free flowing conversation, I asked her if she could let me know where to get coloured pawns for the board games. I have been trying to find for a long time but could not. She said, why do you need to buy. I can make them or teach students how to make them.

She said we keep spending a lot whereas we could make things from recycled materials and that would be helpful for the sustainability of the planet.

I was mind-blown and thanked her. I requested her to send a writeup about her work that I said will share with my network and am doing so here.
