What does it look like when you begin a project and set out to be in the end?

The messy middle is the part of a project, goal or quarter when you're in the thick of it and want to see the other end.

It's easy to lose focus on the little details and forget the bigger picture.

A few tips for leading well in the messy middle:

1. Keep your eyes on the main focus. Why are you leading your team to do this? What is the prize?
2. Focus on your actions. Break big stuff down into small stuff.
3. Celebrate. It will come.
