I woke up very early this morning with a fire in my belly, heart and mind. I love that feeling. It was even more special when we (Luba and I) discovered our silent meditation was of the same imagery, the contraction and expansion of the light within us as ONE. Our individual aspects had merged into this slowly pulsing light. These are things that we just cannot make up. The attention, intention and actions we've been engaging are bringing us even closer to experiencing the ONE within each other and the world around us.
This post came as an afterthought regarding the insights garnered from viewing the new Netflix series, Messiah. It's a juxtaposition of spiritual and material mindsets, noting the reluctance of 'believers.' So unmistakable in how most of us act - we believe until faced with the reality, then we freak out and try to destroy the very thing we believe in. The signs above were in Mexico, just outside of Tulum, and are perfect reminders of how to think. We discovered them as we were discussing developing greater self-awareness, a synchronicity one just simply cannot ignore; we took pictures as proof.
Opening the new year with new sight already. I can only imagine the continued comments about better vision or clear-sighted action et al regarding 2020. Netflix released its first season of Messiah on New Year's Day. The series illustrates how we do not trust what we feel, hear and see relating to our inner being and showcases the outer display of our cognitive dissonance. We quickly turn our trust into suspicion. Why can't we do the opposite? My adoptive father, wise beyond many, used to ask me in my youth why I had to trust everyone. Doesn't 'God' trust everyone? Think about that for a moment.
How We Think or NOT
I'd imagine a brief survey would indicate many are waiting for such an one (perhaps aliens even) to show up and lead everyone, looking for someone to tell us what to do. The interesting part of the story, though, is that Messiah consistently puts those choices back on the individual to make. The strength of character within us, apparently, is lacking and only we can restore it. Look at our world today. Too many think they know the way, act like Messiahs and end up in conflict with others instead of collaboration.
Not knowing exactly how to turn our future toward becoming fearless of each other, choosing to be free of fear and work toward learning how to work together is tantamount to our survival, let alone our sustainability. We think angels, entrepreneurs, extraterrestrials, innovators, scientists and technologists and the like are going to find ways to help clean our people and planet up. Each of us has to make that choice internally, step away from the self-indulgent consumerism.
The obvious missing part is the non-material, the way we feel, hear, see and relate to our world and Nature, let alone each other. We've had decades of information and proven results from those who've journeyed ahead and risked their lives to become fearless. Although we sense its clarity and truth, we still ignore it. We think things will take care of themselves and abdicate our individual throne of power by the choices we make.
Permission-Based Choices
The Messiah basically gives us permission to do the right thing. Why do we always need someone to give us permission? We cannot do it on our own is an age-old question, yet peer or religious pressure keeps us from doing so. Why do we need a Messiah when these choices within our hearts and minds are obvious? Oh, but there is so much momentum built up toward our destructive behaviors. So? Do we give up? Of course not.
The ugly thing we need to admit is that when someone steps up and calls us out, intentionally or not, we attack and deny first with all the suspicion we can muster. Few have the ability to pause and reflect, let alone stand in their own light. If we are going to change the world, we have to think differently first. Can we? Can you? I've witnessed what a change of feeling and thinking can do, though it was a tough challenge to be disciplined enough to do so. There is no salvation in separation.
I was pretty naive when we taped this show in 1990, just a guy with a vision of how to start the conversation. It's worth sharing again as this conversation is rather timeless. Rodger left this world just over a year later. Our private conversations have had a lasting effect on my life. They certainly began a quest to understand the 'perfect' form, fit and function of my consciousness inside this body as it applies to the world I experience and live as a participant. Maybe it will you, too.
May 2020 offer us a way to transcend our anger, fear, ignorance and immobility.
