Messaging or File transfer? Why not both?
Identity Crisis
I am forever amazed and impressed by people who have achieved success in two dramatically different areas due to their two distinct areas of expertise. Like the footballer Laurent Duvernay-Tardif, who not only played on the Super Bowl LIV championship team, but is also a Doctor of Medicine and Master of Surgery.?Then there is the?Big Bang?television actor Mayim Bialik who earned her Ph.D in in neuroscience and is currently one of the hosts of Jeopardy.?
Does LD-T see himself as a footballer with a medical degree, or as a doctor who plays in the NFL? Does Mayim Bialik see herself as an actor who just happens to be a neuroscientist, or as a neuroscientist who happens to act.?And how did each start out…did they start out with two very different goals…or did it just happen??I would love to ask each these questions?
The reason I have been giving this unusual phenomenon some thought is that we have a similar situation with our?Secure Messaging?service.?It started out as a chat/messaging service designed for regulated industries…and it does a great job at that task. But it is also attracting a lot…even more…attention as a?Large File Transfer?service. Not only is ESM capable of transferring files that are very, very large, the files can be multi-media and not require compression.
So whenever I am asked to describe ESM, I don’t know if I should describe it as a?best-in-class secure messaging platform with large file transfer functionality, or should I describe it as a?best-in-class large file transfer service with the added benefits of secure chat and messaging.
Check it out and tell me what you think…I’d love to know.
