NOTE: To my current 1000+ contacts (including recruiters), this is not meant for you.
For all the "recruiters" out there who send me BLIND (meaning I don't know you and I don't know ANYONE who knows you) invitations to connect with me using nothing more than the default message in LinkedIn; STOP!
You get paid for connecting people to jobs; I get it. However, I don't. If you are too lazy to do just a bit of research to determine whether there is ANY value to ME to be connected with YOU, then your "invitation" is nothing more than SPAM; and I wish I could report it. Now, if you want to pay me a portion of your fee for anyone you secure a job for from my list of contacts, I am all ears!
This also goes for anyone else requesting to "connect" without there being ANY obvious business reason to do so. I suspect I do more work checking you out and trying to determine who you are and why I should care than you did in sending me an "invitation".
Given your "invitation" to connect by using ONLY the default copy, I suspect I may be over estimating the depth of your interest in my opinion. But at least this post is more thoughtful than your invite.
If you can't be original, be quiet.
PS. I am fully aware that I may now now be "black-balled" by the recruiting industry, but I will live with it.
