As we come to the end of the year, I wanted to share a message to my children.
- Never give up. If you believed in it when you started, finish it. You will not regret being driven to your goals.
- Listen to your heart. Don't let others direct your future or form your opinions. Feedback may be a gift, but you need to sift through it to find the gold.
- Be patient. Never giving up does not mean you have to get there tomorrow. I have been learning to play guitar for three years and have a song that I may never totally learn. But as I work through it, it has helped me to improve on other songs.
- Treat everyone as if they were your best friend. Would you cut your best friend off in traffic, or risk your relationship with them just to prove yourself right, and them wrong? You don't know their situation.
- This is not as important as you think it is. Whatever the issue is, when you look back at it in a month or a year, you will find it was not that big of a deal in the grand scheme of things.
