Message of Hajj
"An Arab has no superiority over a non-Arab nor a non-Arab has any superiority over an Arab; also a White has no superiority over a Black nor a Black has any superiority over a White except by piety and good action" was one of the most important points delivered by our beloved PROPHET (PBUH) while performing Hajj.
Our desire for power generates ego which is why the pilgrims are called to sacrifice an animal and donate it to the poor. The charitable contribution not only connects us with the poor but also opens our hearts to be more receptive to others.
Islam embraced diversity & inclusivity not through just words but through solid actions. It forbade the burial of girl children besides allocating them shares from father and husband wealth. Bibi Rufayda (a female Ansaar) introduced the novel idea of mobile tents for wars during the battle of Khaibar. On the other hand, the first wife of our PROPHET (PBUH) was a businesswoman Hazrat Khadija (RA). A former slave of black color Hazrat Bilal (RA) was the first Moazzin of Islam while Hazrat Salman Farsi (RA) was a Persian companion who suggested digging a trench around Madina before the battle of Uhud. These historical facts show that embracing people from different colors and races broadens our minds, leads to new ideas, and helps us stay grounded.

We do not go to Hajj to gain something, we do go to Hajj to let go of everything i.e. detaching ourselves from all worldly idols and EGOs and fill it with the love of God. As Rumi famously said "Do you want to become a pilgrim on the road of love? The first condition is that you make yourself humble as dust and ashes".
HAJJ & EID MUBARIK to all.
