Fayette County Public Schools
Dear Fayette County Public Schools Families, Students and Staff,
I am proud to share that following the 9/11 Patriots Day ceremony, eight cadets from Fayette-Ware NJROTC Wildcat Company were presented with the Best Overall Unit trophy for their exceptional performance at the 4th Annual Arkansas Cadet Leadership Course, held June 16-22, 2024, at Camp Joseph T. Robinson Army National Guard Post in Little Rock, Arkansas. The trophy was presented in recognition of their outstanding achievements in academics, physical training, dorm and uniform inspections, and drills and ceremonies.
Competing against seven other Air Force JROTC schools from Arkansas, Louisiana, and Tennessee, our cadets brought home the top honor. The trophy will remain at Fayette-Ware High School until they return next year to defend their title. I could not be prouder of their dedication and leadership!
?I would also like to congratulate Christel from Oakland Elementary and Joseph from West Junior High. They were recognized as winners in the Fayette County Bicentennial Poster Design Contest. Both students earned monetary prizes for their exceptional creativity, and their artwork will be proudly displayed at the Oakland in October Festival on October 5, 2024. We are very proud of their artistic accomplishments and the important contributions they have made to honor our county’s history. Their talent is a shining example of the excellence we celebrate in Fayette County Public Schools.
?We commend our Fayette-Ware Interact Club members for their dedication and leadership in volunteering at the Harris Armour Memorial Rotary Pancake Breakfast on Saturday, September 14. Despite the rainy weather, these students chose to serve the community. Their commitment to serving others reflects the spirit of "service before self." I could not be prouder of these exceptional young leaders!
Colorful fruits and vegetables give you super energy! Each vibrant color represents different nutrients vital for your health. Red foods like tomatoes and strawberries are packed with antioxidants, while orange and yellow foods such as carrots and oranges are rich in vitamin C and beta-carotene. Green vegetables like spinach contain essential vitamins and purple foods like blueberries contain antioxidants. By including various colorful foods in your diet, you fuel your body with the nutrients it needs to stay energized and strong.
?Missing two days of school each month can lead to chronic absenteeism, resulting in significant academic and social consequences. This can cause students to fall behind in lessons, struggle with gaps in skill development, and face declining grades. Frequent absences reduce engagement, motivation, and connection to school, making it harder to stay on track and build relationships with peers. In the long term, this increases the risk of dropping out and limits future educational and career opportunities. Regular attendance is crucial for both academic success and social development.
