Message from the Superintendent: January 17, 2025
Dear Fayette County Public Schools Families, Students and Staff,
On behalf of Fayette County Public Schools, I congratulate our 8th-grade Academic Pentathlon team for earning first place in Tennessee and second place nationally! Additionally, I am incredibly proud of our 7th-grade team for their outstanding third-place finish among national 7th-grade teams. These accomplishments are a testament to the dedication, hard work, and academic excellence of our scholars and the exceptional guidance of their teacher Mr.?Clint Brown. These scholars?have proudly represented our district, and we celebrate this incredible achievement together! Keep striving for greatness!
All Fayette County Public Schools will be closed on Monday, January 20, 2025, in observance of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day. This day serves as an important opportunity to honor the life and legacy of Dr. King, who dedicated his life to justice, equality, and the transformative power of education. It is also a day of service, encouraging us to improve our communities and honor Dr. King's vision of equality through hands-on projects such as volunteering, donating, mentoring, helping others, or participating in neighborhood cleanups. His work reminds us to think critically, act with compassion, and strive for a better future for all. Let’s take this day to reflect on his contributions and actively embody his values in our communities.
Coming soon! Mark your calendars for January 27 and January 28, 2025, for the upcoming Parent Information and Listening Sessions. These sessions will cover important updates on the Desegregation Consent Order and provide an opportunity for you to share your thoughts. Parents are welcome to attend any session, regardless of their assigned school location. Don’t miss this valuable opportunity to stay informed and engaged!
Recognizing the difference between a cold and the flu is key. Colds develop gradually with mild symptoms like sneezing and a stuffy nose, while the flu has a sudden onset with fever, aches, fatigue, and chills. Stay informed to fight the flu effectively!
Ensuring regular attendance is a collective effort among students, parents, educators, and the community. Together we can keep students present, engaged, and on track for success. Every day matters for every student.
