Message from the Superintendent: February 7, 2025

Dear Fayette County Public Schools Families, Students, and Staff,?

On February 6, 2025, during the school board meeting, we had the distinct privilege of recognizing the outstanding educators, students, and board members who contribute so much to the success of Fayette County Public Schools.

We proudly honored our 2024-2025 Teachers of the Year, whose dedication to student growth and academic excellence continues to make a lasting impact in our schools. Their commitment to inspiring and guiding young minds is truly commendable.

Additionally, we celebrated the incredible achievements of our Academic Pentathlon team, who earned top placements in regional competitions. These students have demonstrated exceptional knowledge, discipline, and teamwork, and we were thrilled to present them with well-deserved medals.

Our school board members were also recognized for their tireless service and leadership in shaping the future of education in Fayette County. As a token of appreciation, they received special goodie baskets in recognition of their dedication and support for our schools.

It is an honor to work alongside such passionate educators, talented students, and committed leaders. Their achievements exemplify the very best of Fayette County Public Schools and serve as an inspiration to our entire community. I extend my deepest gratitude to each of them for their hard work, perseverance, and commitment to excellence.

Fayette-Ware Comprehensive High School continues to shine academically! At the Tennessee Regional Academic Decathlon, Team #1 placed first overall with an impressive 16,801 points, while Team 2 secured second place with 10,206 points. Competing against top schools, our students demonstrated excellence across multiple subjects, earning top scores in Art, Economics, Literature, Mathematics, Music, Science, and Social Science.

Special recognition goes to our outstanding scholars for their stellar performances. Their hard work and dedication reflect the academic strength of Fayette County Public Schools.

Congratulations to all our students and Academic Decathlon Coaches Bryan Banks and Patricia Mattila for their commitment to excellence!

East Junior High School has introduced a new sensory room, providing a valuable resource for teachers to support students with sensory needs. This dedicated space offers a calming environment where students can regulate their emotions, focus, and engage in activities that promote sensory processing and self-regulation.

The sensory room includes a variety of tools and equipment tailored to different sensory preferences, such as tactile objects for hands-on engagement, soft lighting and soothing visuals to create a calming atmosphere, fidget tools to provide comfort and support, quiet areas for students needing a break from overstimulation, and more.

Teachers at East Junior High can use this space for all students, ensuring that those who may experience sensory challenges have a safe and supportive environment to help them thrive. This addition reflects the school's commitment to inclusivity and fostering a learning atmosphere that meets the needs of every student.

Congratulations to our outstanding educators on their exceptional performance and individual TVAAS scores for the 2023-2024 school year!

Your dedication to student success is truly inspiring, and we deeply appreciate your hard work and commitment. We are incredibly proud of each of you and all educators across the district who go above and beyond to support, guide, and empower our students every day. Thank you for making a lasting impact on Fayette County Public Schools!

We sincerely appreciate the Pilot Travel Center in Fayette County for their generous donation to Fayette County Public Schools. Feeling unwell? Stay home. Cover coughs and sneezes with a tissue or your sleeve—never your hands. Dispose of tissues properly and keep hygiene a priority. Let’s protect each other!

Missing 10% or more school days can lead to chronic absence, impacting learning. Stay in the satisfactory range (9 days or fewer missed) and watch your success grow. Every day in school counts—your presence makes a difference!
