Message from the Superintendent August 26, 2022
Dear Fayette County Public Schools Families, Students and Staff,
Over the past few weeks I have had the opportunity to meet and visit with many Fayette County Public Schools families at my Superintendent Meet and Greets. During these events?the school administrative teams and I have shared important information regarding this school year, their individual schools, and the district as a whole. I feel that these sessions have been informative for both the parents and for myself. I thoroughly enjoyed having the opportunity to meet and engage with everyone that was able to attend. There is?one Meet and Greet session remaining at Buckley-Carpenter Elementary School on Tuesday, August 30 at 5:00 pm. Communication with staff, parents, and students?is key. I have an?open door policy and welcome the chance to connect with each of you.
This week?I was excited to welcome members of the Fayette County School Board into our schools. They had the opportunity to observe?the work of our teachers and students firsthand. I am so appreciative of the work that our board members do and would like to thank them for taking the time visit our schools and invest in our students.

Finally, I cannot emphasize the importance of student attendance enough. Last year districts across the state of Tennessee saw a dip in their attendance numbers, FCPS included. Satisfactory attendance is imperative to your child’s academic success and our success as a district. Please ensure that your child attends school every day.?Set them up for success by making sure that they arrive to school on time and are well-rested and prepared to make every day great!
Dr. Versie R. Hamlett
