Message from LearningRx's new CEO

Message from LearningRx's new CEO

It is an honor to be appointed as the new CEO of LearningRx. I’ve spent the bulk of my professional life preparing for this humbling moment and the appointment comes during a time when our organization looks to a very bright future. We are primed and focused to help more people across the world with their learning struggles while presenting our company’s model as a meaningful investment for people inclined to own successful businesses that give so much back to their communities.

Our organization cares about people’s success deeply and I want to be a strong steward of my father’s legacy of caring for those with learning struggles.

I look at what my father has developed as a gift, a gift that can help people, and is greatly needed around the world. It’s a gift that has even helped my own son Max accomplish skills that many doctors told me he’d never be able to achieve.

Our history is similar to many other great American success stories. LearningRx was created with the desire to simply help the struggling reader. My father, Dr. Ken Gibson, is a pioneer in the field of cognitive training who set out over 35 years ago with a keen curiosity to answer the question: How could a smart person struggle to read?

Dad dove into all available research back in the 1970’s that focused on what was necessary to learn fast, easy, and efficient. He didn’t fully know where he’d end up, but he started on a journey to make the world a better place; and in my estimation he was very successful in this effort.

Through his journey all those years ago, he realized that the seven basic skills important to how we learn and perform, could all be trained and improved.

As a family we have built LearningRx into a global company that has assisted nearly 100,000 people around the world. We have about 80 centers in the US and are in over 40 additional countries around the world. And we are growing. It’s pretty amazing.

I am very excited for the future of LearningRx. Our best days are ahead of us. We work in an industry that is primed to have tremendous growth globally. LearningRx offers a wonderful opportunity for individuals who would like to run their own business while making a difference. Our extended team is made up of professionals, parents of kids that struggled, and smart franchise owners that hold our same values. They believe in giving back and in making the dreams of increased learning a reality.

Many friends and colleagues are asking me what is next for this company. Simple, we will continue to be aggressive and focused on our growth so more people can use our tools to brighten their lives. Over the next ten years I want to achieve a very attainable goal of seeing 300,000 brains trained. In addition, we will expand on the pioneering research within the Gibson Institute of Cognitive Research.

To achieve these goals, more families in the communities that we serve must understand our impact. Our team will work hard to tell them our story and show them our proven results.   Also, we will expand into communities that are currently without centers both in the United States and abroad. Our team will achieve this with increased global outreach.

These items are all very possible as our leadership team is seasoned, dedicated, and as driven as I am to meet these goals.

Part of this process is transparency and therefore my door is open to everyone. If you have questions about our brand, let’s meet and see how we can work together either as a franchise owner, a trainer, or a client who seeks a path out of a particular learning struggle.

Onward! - Kim
