A Message from Conservation Programs Director, Dr. Carolina Soto-Navarro

Dear Supporters,

As I walk through the lush trails of southern Costa Rica, surrounded by the symphony of wildlife, I'm reminded of the incredible opportunity we have at Osa Conservation to take action today to conserve the unparalleled biodiversity of the region into perpetuity. Our team on the ground in Southern Costa Rica is working hand-in-hand with the local community to build resilience for people and nature in the face of climate change and biodiversity loss global emergencies. As the Conservation Programs Director, I want to extend my deepest gratitude for your unwavering support and share with you the essence of our mission: protecting and restoring the wild. This is only possible thanks to your support.

To build long-term resilience, Osa Conservation is reconnecting habitats throughout the AmistOsa biological wildlife corridor. Our work stretches from the tropical lowlands of the Osa Peninsula to the high elevation wilderness of the Amistad International Peace Park, totalling a working landscape of 1.3 million acres.

This Giving Tuesday, your support can leverage our capacity to build upon a strong foundation, launch new initiatives, push the boundaries of prioritization, support more local associations, empower women leadership, leverage economic diversification and social awareness by working with the youngest in the Amistosa landscape, and expanding our reach to ensure diversity thrives in Southern Costa Rica.

Each contribution is a seed planted in the fertile ground of our diverse programs. Excitingly, every dollar you donate will be matched by our generous partners, effectively doubling your impact. These matched contributions not only amplify the reach of our programs but also aid in establishing a replicable model of success.

* $15 allows us to plant a native tree and ensure its care for three years, contributing to the reforestation of vital tropical habitats.

* $100 can adopt a sea turtle nest, ensuring the protection and safe journey of hatchlings to the ocean.

* $300 purchases a camera trap, aiding in the monitoring and research of canopy-dwelling species like the endangered Spider Monkey.

* $500 fuels an educational expedition into the mangrove forests for a group of local children, promoting hands-on learning and a connection with these critical ecosystems.

This Giving Tuesday, I invite you to deepen your commitment to our cause. Investing in the wild is more than a donation; it's a legacy. Together, we can continue to safeguard the irreplaceable treasures of the Osa, ensuring that its biodiversity endures for years to come.

Thank you for being part of our journey. Every leaf, every creature, every drop of water in the Osa Peninsula thrives because of you. Let's continue to invest and work together on a wild future for nature and people.

With gratitude,

Dr. Carolina Soto-Navarro
