A Message from a Blessed Serial Entrepreneur

A Message from a Blessed Serial Entrepreneur

It is never easy to reinvent yourself; but sometimes it is necessary. You must continuously evolve to get to the next level, always striving to learn from both the triumphs and the tribulations of life. As a "serial entrepreneur" that has built many successful businesses, I can tell you that the road to success is NEVER a straight line. It is one filled with many obstacles that come in every form imaginable.

"the road to success is NEVER a straight line"?

After 30 years of being in the financial services / financial technology space, starting in community banking at the turn of the decade of the 90's, and then moving to residential mortgages in the late 90's, it was hard to start all over in a brand new industry. Especially one that I never could have imagined joining. I went from knowing so many in the industry to knowing almost nobody! I went from being the guy the industry reporters and editors called for comments on a wide range of technology and industry topics, to the guy who was "journalistically invisible."

Although I have only been in my new industry for three years, I brought with me a lifetime of experience in the entrepreneurial and technology school of "hard knocks." I earned a virtual PhD in "been there and done that." I also learned much along the way about myself and my own leadership qualities. Life humbled me, enabling me to build wisdom and strength along the way, both personally and in business. Your personal life self should not be different from your business life self — you take your inimitable character with you.

These lessons in both success and failure have enabled me to carry all of this to a season of reinvention. I’ve taken all of this in to make me better in all of my personal and professional roles. This includes the advancement of myself into my new venture, which is truly and uniquely "inQredible"! What makes it so is a collaboration of experience of not only myself, but, an amazing team of professionals all of whom I truly admire and am blessed to work alongside! It is a blessing when you can take all of the experience and use it to build a better, stronger model, not only of your company and team; but also of yourself. It has made me realize that it is not just about reinvention, but about positive evolution on all levels. We will never be perfect, but we are called to progress; to push ourselves to be better every single day, even in the days that give you a hard kick in the arse! This has been for me a journey of mind, body, and spiritual life as positive progression — I push always to continually evolve.

Although Qredible has been in incubator and laboratory for three years, it has been 30 plus years in the making. And for that, I feel the need to thank all of those in my life, both inside and out of the company. Those who believed in me and those who have believed in the vision and mission of safe commerce, built upon the pillars of trust and transparency. I also feel obliged to say “thank you”? to all of those in my past who have supported my various ventures and who have been both a joy and a challenge to work with. I have learned something from ALL OF YOU and I am stronger for it! I am energized in mind, body. and spirit to truly be inQredible!

Rise to the challenge regardless of your circumstances and take the good and the bad to make you better, not bitter! Be "InQredible"!

Brian, thanks for sharing!

Brian, Thank you so much for sharing your journey. It's never easy to reflect upon oneself (much less, share on a public platform)... Looking back at all the bumps in the road can- at times, be discouraging.... Your journey is a wonderful story- inspirationally moving. There are always ups and downs in life, and I know you will continue on your upward path. I feel humbled and gratified in equal measure, and I am really proud of you... In true friendship, all the very best!
