A message on the current situation with Coronavirus
Have you ventured outside in the last week? The current situation is a tense one, but I am really glad to see people cooperating with authorities and following instructions. If this continues, I’m confident that we will be able to put the virus behind us and look forward to a better 2020.
Though the news has put a damper on things, it’s quite heartening to hear inspiring stories during the outbreak. Social distancing is happening, but people are being quite positive from inside their homes. I hope that you have found ways to stay productive when self-quarantined at home. It may seem tiresome at the moment, but it’s for the greater good to not allow the virus to spread.
I am in awe of health professionals who are working round-the-clock to make sure that patients are being treated well. I am also hopeful that soon a cure will be available, and the fear can be put to rest. Those affected around the world - whether direct victims, loved ones, doctors, nurses, the elderly - my heart goes out to all of them in this troubled time.
Kudos to those businesses and their employees, who are still reporting to work this past week and keeping the economy running. And also to delivery executives, couriers, retail and other departments that are making life easier for those who are working from home.
At Royal Brothers, our Ops and Customer Service teams are also reporting to work. The rest of the teams have been given the option to work from home, and they’re doing what they can to keep productive while working remotely. The co-founders - Akash, Kuldip and I - have also been coming in to work to show support to Team RB.
Our biggest customers during this time are commuters. Those looking to commute within their cities have picked long-term bike rentals as travelling by public transport still puts people at risk. We’re doing what we can in this situation, to offer our customers the best solution. We’re giving our bikes a thorough cleaning before each rental and offering sanitized helmets as well. Hygiene supplies are also available at each of our locations across India.
Please do not take this situation lightly. Always follow the guidelines of health experts. In the current scenario, it is advisable to wear masks and constantly sanitize yourself. Most importantly, do not panic, ignore unreliable news reports, stay healthy and protect yourself and your loved ones.
