Currently, energy storage technology is continuously innovating and upgrading, driving the rapid expansion of large-scale energy storage stations. MERITSUN has recently launched a 500kW/1290kWh containerized energy storage system, featuring cutting-edge integrated and modular design concepts. This system perfectly integrates high-performance hybrid inverters, efficient LiFePO4 battery cells, a battery management system (BMS), an independent air conditioning system, a fire protection system, a distribution box, and an energy management system (EMS) into a standard 20-foot container.




500kW Hybrid Inverter: Certified for High Efficiency


The 500kW hybrid inverter features an integrated design, combining a photovoltaic controller (supporting up to 10 MPPTs, suitable for a wide input voltage range of 250-850V, with a maximum output of 600kW when needed).


Additionally, it includes an energy storage converter and an automatic grid/off-grid switching unit, significantly enhancing deployment efficiency for customers while reducing installation costs.




This hybrid inverter has been certified by international standards such as EN62109-1/-2, EN62477-1, EN61000-6-2, and EN61000-6-4. It also complies with South Africa's NRS097-2-1:2017, and standards in Pakistan and India such as IEC61727, IEC62116, and IEC 61683. It meets the safety regulations of the national grid.


New Battery Module: Ensuring Reliability and Safety


The battery module uses Grade A LiFePO4 cells, 3.2V 280Ah, with each module consisting of 16 cells in series. Each battery module corresponds to a BMS (Battery Management System) and is equipped with multiple functions, including electrical and physical double isolation, automatic fault module exit, and battery insulation failure pre-warning.




Fifteen battery modules of 51.2V 280Ah are connected in series to form a 768V 280Ah battery pack, which is then connected in parallel with six other sets to achieve a total of 1290kWh.?The battery management system (BMS) is designed with triple protection, from the Battery Module Unit (BMU) to the Battery Cluster Management Unit (BCMU), and finally to the entire Battery System Management Unit (BSMU). This ensures precise data measurement and monitoring, guaranteeing lossless and fault-free operation.


To meet the environmental conditions of the application site and the operating conditions of the system, the battery pack and supporting equipment are maintained in normal operation through thermal management controls within the container. This includes air conditioning, thermal management design, and insulation layers, ensuring the internal temperature of the container supports the proper functioning of the battery pack and electrical equipment.


Three Opening Methods: Ensuring Container Fire Safety


The automatic detection, alarm, and fire suppression system features three activation methods—automatic, manual, and mechanical emergency operation—ensuring a swift response in any emergency situation. The system is equipped with built-in sound and light alarms that immediately emit loud warnings in the event of a fire, alerting personnel to evacuate. Paired with high-efficiency thermal detectors, combined detectors, and smoke and flame detectors, it provides comprehensive fire detection with no blind spots.




The core highlight is the rapid fire suppression technology with gas injection in under 10 seconds, quickly controlling the spread of flames and ensuring safety for life and property. An independent manual emergency operation mechanism provides dual protection for emergency response. Additionally, emergency lighting equipment guides evacuation directions in the dark.
